Erasmus+ Traineeship

What it is and how to take part

Erasmus+ is the European Union programme for education, training, youth and sport. It supports the international mobility of students and recent graduates in participating countries, with the aim of developing transferable and professional skills.

Erasmus+ traineeship grants can fund training and career guidance placements or curricular traineeships at a host organisation abroad.

Duration

From 2 to 12 months under Erasmus+ rules

A traineeship abroad can last from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 12 months. IC ESA Napoli requires a minimum stay of 3 months.

You can complete more than one period abroad, for study or traineeship, within the overall limit established for each study cycle.

  • First cycle: bachelor’s degree or equivalent, EQF 5/6.
  • Second cycle: master’s degree or equivalent, EQF 7.
  • Third cycle: doctorate or equivalent, EQF 8.
  • For single-cycle programmes such as architecture or medicine, the total period allowed by the programme may be up to 24 months.
  • Recent graduates can take part if they apply while they are still enrolled and complete the traineeship within one year of graduation, in accordance with the applicable call for applications.
